The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) of the federal government denied resources for the repair of roads in Jalisco; despite this, the municipalities insist on asking them to reconsider.
The Municipality of Guachinango requested to repair the federal highway 70, which goes from El Arenal to Zacatecas, in the section between Ameca and Mascota.
“From Guachinango, we join the call of other Municipalities and make an urgent appeal to our federal authorities to take action on the deplorable state of the Mexico Highway 70.”

Last May, the interim Mayor Estanislao Zepeda Ramírez asked the Secretariat to repair from kilometer 1 to 46.
The response of Ernesto Rubio Ávalos, general director of the SICT Jalisco Center, did not satisfy them and they aired the document where they were denied resources.
In its appeal, the Government of Guachinango stressed that this is a vital issue for the region.
“This situation affects not only road safety, but also health and economic activation, since communication routes are essential for the development of our community,” they added.
The response in June for the Mayor of Tamazula, Everardo “Lalo” Gutiérrez, was also unfavorable when he requested to patch the 110 Jiquilpan-Manzanillo Highway, between Zapotiltic and Mazamitla.
“We cannot favorably address your request, because the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit has not authorized resources for the year 2024 in the Highway Conservation Program, so we are unable to carry out any type of work on the toll-free federal highways.”
