Belinda has shown a new musical side, now that she has ventured into regional Mexican music and, this Friday, she will premiere “La Mala”, a very personal song that she wrote herself and for which she traveled to Guanajuato, where she recorded her video clip. This situation has caused controversy, since the singer was paid by the state government, with a million-dollar sum, to promote the region.

The state’s Secretary of Tourism, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, has already confirmed that the state paid Belinda 5 million pesos, this because, with the filming of her video, she will contribute to the cultural diffusion of Guanajuato.

The video for “La Mala” was recorded in the center of the city, in the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, one of the most representative buildings in the region.

And although it is a strategy in favor of tourism, there are those who have criticized the state for directing such a high budget to pay the singer, arguing that it is not in line with the cultural sector’s austerity plan.

In fact, Secretary Álvarez Brunel shared a message on his social networks, along with a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the video, through which he thanked the singer for working with the state to activate tourism.

For her part, Belinda says she is excited about the upcoming release of her song, which she wrote inspired by the sayings that are said about her, about the belief that she is not lucky in love.

Some of the verses of “La mala” say:

“They say I’m the bad one… reputation, that they throw me away, I throw away the blessing, that I’m not good for a relationship, that I left them crazy that I’m the downfall,” and “kisses to the haters, who contradict themselves, while I’m in the gym, doing ass and biceps.”

“It’s a character (that will be seen in the video) of a woman who gets hate and she’s like the witch of the place, that everyone judges, but then she transforms and we see how everything was only part of a stigma (…), everything is part of the perception of the people, of the public, when in reality I’m a totally different person.”

The singer, who recently turned 35, revealed that in the last month she has composed 50 songs, which would represent the most creative moment of her entire artistic career.
