Watch: Six Flags Mexico riders stranded midair during storm, caught in heavy rain

The incident occurred at Six Flags Mexico on August 18.

Rider Omar Hernández Medrano captured video footage from the Sky Screamer ride, also known as Supergirl Sky Flight, which stalled, leaving him and other passengers exposed to wind and rain.

“We went up on Supergirl, and as it started, it began to rain and quickly worsened. While we were high up, with the rain and the ride in motion, it stopped, and we were stuck at the top for ten minutes in heavy rain,” Hernández told Storyful.

According to the park’s website, the ride takes passengers 243 feet above the ground.

Park officials stated that the storm halted several rides, and evacuation protocols were followed.

“Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation process, creating some uncomfortable moments for our visitors. Park staff attended to all visitors, and no incidents were reported. Sky Screamer resumed normal operations shortly after,” Six Flags Mexico said.
