Seven people were swept away by the current of the Nacinjintla River in Apango, municipal seat of Mártir de Cuilapan, in Guerrero; four were rescued and three remain missing.
The three missing people were identified as Alberto García, Miguel Garduño and Angélica Chimal, originally from Toluca, State of Mexico.
People were participating in the event “Acapulcazo 675 kilometers”
The seven people are participants in the extreme sports event called “Acapulcazo 675 kilometers”, organized by the Club Toluca Aventura Extrema (TAE).
There are more than 200 pilots who left Metepec on August 29 and headed towards Acapulco. Apango is part of their extreme route.
The people who were rescued yesterday afternoon were identified as Jorge Ramos, Pablo Aguilar, Alejandra Torres and Jorge Mercado.
They search for missing people with dogs and 4 razer vehicles
The head of the Secretariat of Integral Management and Civil Protection Guerrero, Roberto Arroyo Matus, reported that the search for the four people continues with the participation of Municipal and State Civil Protection, Public Security Guerrero and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
Inside the riverbed there are four razer and elements of the Canine Search and Rescue Unit of the Secretariat of Management Integral and Civil Protection Guerrero.
The TAE Club participants were scheduled to arrive at the port of Acapulco on August 30, to return to the State of Mexico on Saturday the 31st.
