CCH and Volaris hold business meeting to promote new direct route between Guadalajara and San José

The Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels, in collaboration with the airline Volaris, began a tour in Mexico to promote the new direct route between the cities of Guadalajara and San José.

Volaris announced the launch of the new international route that will connect both cities starting on October 29.

The tour, which takes place from August 26 to 29, includes business meetings with tourism agents in Guadalajara and Mexico City.

“This effort aims to increase the flow of tourism and business between both cities, as well as strengthen commercial relations in the sector, taking advantage of this new flight that connects these cities in just three hours,” said the director of the CCH, Flora Ayub.

A total of 16 Costa Rican tourism entrepreneurs are participating, who will hold meetings with Mexican tourism agencies, strengthening ties between both countries and generating new business opportunities.

According to ICT data, the Mexican market has shown constant growth and has established itself as the third largest source of tourists to Costa Rica, surpassed only by the United States and Canada.

In 2023, 81,964 Mexican tourists were registered entering the country by air, and during the first four months of 2024, Costa Rica has received 28,820 travelers from Mexico.

“This reinforces the importance of these new direct air routes, to offer more accessibility and continue strengthening the tourist flow between the two countries,” Ayub concluded.
