In Durango, there have been several brothers who have raised the name of the state, from politics, culture and sports.
Here we present some of the many most recognized brothers in the history of Durango.

The Arrieta brothers were originally from Vascogil, Canelas, Durango, at least 13 members of the Arrieta family participated in the Mexican revolution.
The uprising of Francisco I. Madero, carried out on November 20, 1910, had an influence on all the states and regions of the Republic.
In the mountains of Durango, Domingo Arrieta and his brothers were among the first to take up arms. In this feat they were followed by countless neighbors, both from the ravines and from the mountain range itself. He was a member of the anti-reelectionist ranks and in 1910, he spoke out in favor of the Plan of San Luis, launching himself into the fight on November 20th together with his brothers José, Mariano and Eduardo.
Domingo Arrieta came to govern the state of Durango from 1917 to 1920 and was a senator in the period 1936 to 1940.

José Revueltas and Romana Sánchez are the parents of a family of 12 children, who from a young age were introduced to the world of literature and music, as narrated by María Revueltas, the last Revueltas of the first generation, who died in 2009.
