Jorge Álvarez Máynez, former presidential candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano, denounced the arrest in Campeche of the father of the senator Daniel Barrera, in retaliation for his position against judicial reform.
“As a reprisal for this position, the criminal government of Layda Sansores arrested the father of Senator Daniel Barreda in Campeche this morning. This is already crazy. The discussion of the Judicial Reform must be suspended,” accused Álvarez Máynez on social networks.
“They also arrested Paul Arce, coordinator of our bench in Campeche, at his children’s school,” said the former presidential candidate.
Governor Layda Sansores denies that Senator Daniel Barrera and his father have been arrested: “It is irresponsible of Mr. Álvarez Máynez to have started this rumor without any basis.”
Barrera recently shared that he would vote against the judicial reform, and that he also denounced “the abuses we have suffered in Campeche by the government of Layda Sansores.”
“MY VOTE IS AGAINST this reform that threatens the impartiality of justice and violates human rights,” said Barrera.
