Mexicanos destacan en concurso internacional de ciencias

Mexican students stand out in an international science competition held in Paraguay, where they achieve three accreditations to compete in other international competitions, two silver medals and two more bronze medals.

The young people are students from the Colegio de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos del Estado de Michoacán (Cecytem) and participated in the First South American School Science and Technology Competition, held in Asunción, Paraguay.

The general director of the educational subsystem, Juan Carlos Velasco Procell, highlights the talent of the young people and applauds the triumph of the students from the Puruándiro campus and their advisors, who worthily represented Cecytem, ​​Michoacán and Mexico.

«They are outstanding students. With this triumph, we confirm that at the school we academically train world-class young people and with this, we reaffirm the commitment of Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla to offer quality education to the youth of Michoacán,» he said.

They win silver and bronze medals

The silver medals won by the Mexican students were for the Ji’Awi project, created by the student Vanessa Ramírez Sandoval, which achieved accreditation for the Science Fair that will be held in Ecuador.

The Journey Drive project, created by the student Jesús Gabriel Arreola Díaz, achieved accreditation for the Science Fair organized by the Society of Science and Technology (SOLACyT), which will be held in Mexico.

Meanwhile, the bronze medals went to the students Juan Pablo Maldonado Ramírez and Frida Erandi Salas Aguirre, who also won accreditation for the Science Fair, which will be held in Peru, with the project Mujeres que Inspiran.

The Mente Sana project, created by the student Fátima Estrella Jiménez Díaz and the student Saúl Alejandro García Ibarra achieved accreditation for the Master College Science Fair, to be held in Colombia.

The projects were advised and supervised by María Hilda Salas Aguirre, Gustavo Arredondo Orozco and Artemio Lemus Ruiz, teachers from the Puruándiro campus.

More than 200 projects presented by students from Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Paraguay participated in the competition, where the students from the Puruándiro campus showed and demonstrated once again that Cecytem is a breeding ground for talented young people.
