Armed Group Storms Party in Chiapas and Kills Two Men

Witnesses reported that five armed men stormed the party hall to steal phones, money, jewelry, and sneakers from attendees celebrating the end of a soccer tournament.

An armed group stormed a party hall in the municipality of Tapachula early Sunday morning, where they robbed attendees and killed two people, seriously injuring two more.

Between Friday and Sunday, seven men were executed in Chiapas, across three municipalities.

Early Sunday morning, an armed group stormed the La Cabaña party hall, located in the Las Vegas subdivision of Tapachula, near the Guatemala border, where they attacked attendees around 4:15 AM.

In the armed attack, merchant Juan Manuel Arriaga Juárez, 39, and Manolo Rodas Aguilar, 35, lost their lives, while Andriú Valerio Martínez, 19, was seriously injured with a gunshot to the head, and Salvador Perea López, 25, a DIF employee, was shot in the abdomen.

After shooting some of the attendees, they fled in a white Nissan Frontier truck, a Honda Civic, and another stolen vehicle.

District Attorney’s Office personnel arrived at the scene to conduct investigations and transport the bodies of the deceased to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).

On Saturday afternoon, also in Tapachula, a man who was in his truck parked at Plaza Galerías was shot dead by unknown assailants.

The Chiapas State Attorney General’s Office reported that the victim was identified as Patricio “N”, 35, originally from Ecuador.

In Altamirano, an armed group in three Suburban trucks stormed a home to take three men, whom they tortured and then killed.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the scene to conduct investigations as part of the opened case file.

One of the deceased victims was identified as Sebastián Jiménez, but the names of the other two men are unknown.

On Friday, a man was found dead in a stolen vehicle in the municipality of San Fernando.
