A man of Honduran origin was paraded naked through the streets of Ocosingo, in the Chiapas jungle, and several drivers whipped and beat him to the center of the place, where he was tied up, accused of having murdered a taxi driver.
This morning the taxi with license plates 45-15-BHJ appeared in the community of Abasolo, with traces of blood, but the body of the taxi driver identified as Ernesto, known among the drivers by the alias of “El judíos”, appeared with several stab wounds in the vicinity of the Technical Secondary School (EST) 16 of the municipal seat of Ocosingo.
The taxi drivers had held demonstrations during the morning of this Saturday, to demand that the Police begin investigations to find the whereabouts of the murderer, until hours later they located a Honduran with blood on his clothes, for which he was imprisoned in a community prison.
The taxi drivers agreed to take the detainee of Honduran origin out of prison and parade him through the streets of Ocosingo. Several taxi drivers tied the man with ropes around his body, while others, with whips they improvised, whipped him for several kilometers. “Ayyy..!” complained the man of Central American origin.
While the inhabitants of Ocosingo went out to see the group of taxi drivers parading the alleged murderer, the elements of the Municipal and State Preventive Police, locked themselves in their offices.
Afterwards, the man was tied to the flagpole that is in the central square of Ocosingo, with a sign on his body: “I am a murderer.”
The taxi drivers threatened to burn the Honduran alive, but others, more prudent, assured that it was better to wait.
Negotiations with drivers to hand over the detainee
The man remains tied up in the central square of Ocosingo, waiting for elements of the Indigenous Justice Prosecutor’s Office and the Police to arrive at the scene so that he can be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
As a result of the whipping that the Honduran received on his body, he has several injuries mainly on his back, arms and legs, although his face is also disfigured by the blows.
Some residents assured that the Honduran “is innocent” and that he has nothing to do with the murder of the taxi driver, but authorities from the Indigenous Justice Prosecutor’s Office and the Government delegation are negotiating with the drivers to hand over the detainee.
To increase the punishment, the taxi drivers ordered the man to remain kneeling.
As of 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, the man was found naked, his body covered only by a sports jacket.
