As a result of violent events in other states of the country, the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA) expanded and intensified reconnaissance operations on the borders of Nuevo Leon and Coahuila; in order to prevent them from having repercussions in Coahuila.

Due to this situation, military authorities announced that troops and units belonging to the 14th and 26th Motorized Cavalry Regiments were deployed to participate in reconnaissance operations in the municipality of Juarez and in the area of the Don Martin Dam in the State of Coahuila. In addition to doing the same in Laguna Salinillas, belonging to the neighboring state of Nuevo Leon.
SEDENA said that for these actions, it established contact and coordination with personnel from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of the State of Nuevo Leon. This situation prompted the deployment of military personnel in these municipalities, carrying out various operations in the area, such as patrols and surveillance on dirt roads and gaps located in these areas.

“These actions seek to keep the Coahuila population protected by strengthening ties that allow joining forces with other agencies to combat organized crime or armed groups that try to enter the state of Coahuila,” reads a statement issued by SEDENA.
