The Mexican Airline Pilots’ Union (ASPA) has determined an 8-day extension to start the strike at Aeromexico, which was initially announced for October 1.
It indicated that they will continue the process of negotiating their collective labor contract in search of salary and labor improvements, so for the moment their flights will not be affected and will remain as scheduled.
“We reiterate our commitment to maintain an open and transparent dialogue that allows us to reach agreements for the benefit of our pilots and allows Aeromexico to continue flying high,” the airline indicated in a statement.
With this, the date of the new strike notice would be next October 8 in case of not reaching an agreement.
What will happen if Aeromexico goes on strike?
However, in case of a strike, the airline will be in charge of informing users of the cancellation of flights in order to refund tickets under certain conditions.
To request a refund you must take into account a series of requirements, such as:
- That your ticket is a flexible fare
- That the refund date is less than 12 months from the date of purchase
- That the ticket to be refunded has not been used.
