Crocodiles are reported in Oaxaca and extreme caution is urged after the passage of Hurricane John

As a result of the intense tropical rains of the meteorological phenomenon “John”, the coasts of various entities have been involved with the presence of reptiles, which would pose a danger to both the population and the species of the region.

Crocodiles in the sea of ​​Oaxaca

Through the local media of the entity, the presence of this type of reptiles on the beaches of the area was made known, this due to the heavy rainfall that managed to drag the mangroves into the sea. The coasts were affected by the opening of the mouth of the Ventanilla lagoon, where these species lived.

State authorities have taken precautions to ensure that residents do not approach, harm or attack the animals. According to the information provided, Oaxaca had a variety of mangrove fauna, which is why residents of Mazunte, San Agustinillo or Zipolite are warned, since the specimens could appear in these localities.

Through a video shared by security elements, it was announced that the crocodiles can reach around 3 meters in length, therefore, residents were asked to go to Municipal Civil Protection in case of observing any specimen in the region and not to take action on their own.
