September ends: Chiapas and Oaxaca register 25 tremors in one day

The National Seismological Service (SSN) recorded 25 low-intensity earthquakes in the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca on Monday until the cutoff of 8:00 p.m.

In its evening seismic report, the SSN indicated that 13 earthquakes were recorded in Oaxaca and 12 in Chiapas, with the largest magnitude being 4.4, with its epicenter in Mapastepec, Chihuahua, at 1:56 p.m.

In total, the authorities have recorded nine earthquakes greater than magnitude 4 on Monday.

On the other hand, the other 15 of the earthquakes had a magnitude of 3 to 3.9; the lowest magnitude was 2.9, with its epicenter in Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca.

A couple of days ago, at 8:54 in the morning, a 4.0 magnitude tremor was recorded in Oaxaca, located northeast of the municipality of Mihuatlán, with a depth of 64 kilometers, reported the SSN.

Previously, at 8:04 in the morning, there was an earthquake west of the municipality of Cintalapa, in Chiapas, with a depth of 64 kilometers and magnitude 4.1, according to the SSN.

A day earlier, after Mexico City was besieged between Thursday and Friday by a dozen micro-earthquakes, three tremors were recorded: two in the state of Oaxaca and the other in Veracruz.
