Baja California gastronomy to be celebrated at the “San Diego Food + Wine Festival”

Celebrarán gastronomía de Baja California en “San Diego Food + Wine Festival”

With more than 300 chefs, wineries, farmers, artists and brands, the 20th anniversary of the San Diego Food + Wine Festival will highlight Baja California cuisine.

The focus of this year’s event, which runs from November 2 to 10, is the lasting influence of Mexican culture on the San Diego food scene.

According to authorities at the Mexican Consulate in San Diego, it is a celebration of cross-border innovation, and more than just a gastronomic event, “it is a tribute to the shared history, flavors and future of culinary exploration between Mexico and the United States.”

The ‘San Diego Food + Wine Festival’ is undoubtedly the premier event where San Diegans can enjoy the best wine and beer produced in Mexico, particularly in Baja California,”

said Alicia Kerber-Palma, ambassador and consul general of Mexico in San Diego.

“Mexican wine is the top wine pairing option for the hospitality industry in San Diego, with the United States currently the top destination for Mexican wine exports (50 percent), reaching approximately $7 million,” Kerber-Palma added.

The 9-day festival invites attendees to explore the dynamic future of Mexican food and drink as Thursday’s Michelin-focused “Baja Culinary Expedition” offers an exclusive, curated exploration of Baja’s thriving culinary landscape and recent Michelin star winners, while Friday’s Grand Decant highlights a selection of wines from the Guadalupe Valley, a region that has become synonymous with innovation in viticulture.

The culinary conversation between California and Mexico has been a constant source of inspiration for our team, growing richer and more dynamic each year,” said Michelle Metter, co-producer of the festival and co-founder of Fast Forward Events, in a statement.
