Morena deputy filmed in his Lamborghini on the streets of Coahuila

The local Deputy of the 4T in Coahuila, Antonio “Tony” Flores Guerra, has generated controversy when he was seen driving a cherry-colored Lamborghini Huracán on the streets of Múzquiz, a city in northern Coahuila.

This luxury vehicle, with an approximate value of 400 thousand dollars or more than 7.5 million pesos, contrasts with the principles of republican austerity promoted by the federal government and the Morena party, to which Flores belongs.

It is not Flores Guerra’s first controversy

Antonio Flores Guerra, a coal businessman, has already been the center of controversy for his involvement with questionable contracts with the CFE (Federal Electricity Commission) and for controversial events such as the distribution of bills.

His sister, Tania Flores, former Mayor of Múzquiz, confirmed that the vehicle is driven by the legislator, and anticipated the criticism that this fact would generate.

On her social media, Tania Flores defended the deputy and responded to possible criticism with an ironic comment: “Leave the car, the driver, Antonio Flores,” suggesting that the criticism would come from “angry” or envious people.

The use of such an expensive vehicle by a public official, especially from a party that advocates austerity, has generated a debate about the coherence between the discourse of the 4T and the actions of some of its members, putting the focus on the relationship between political power and luxury in the context of Mexican politics.
