The director of Municipal Tourism and Economic Development, Rosalba Alejandra Cornejo Cornejo, considered that the aggression of a tourist guide, employed at the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta, against who appears to be a visitor, is an isolated and unfortunate event, a regrettable violent act that was recorded in a video that has already gone viral on social networks, but she considered that priority should be to provide security to those who arrive at this destination, for which reason she pointed out that the competent authorities should sanction whoever is responsible.
“There was a situation of aggression and violence, unfortunate of course, our priority has always been, as City Hall, to provide security to our visitors and those who go to Vallarta as a tourist destination… and well, we will be working with the competent authorities to investigate the events, and to be able to ensure that those responsible really have an administrative sanction. So far we know that the process is already underway, the authority that intervened was the National Guard in the first instance, however, what we know is that this event occurred on the public road, it originated in a video that is circulating around, but there is a complete version where you can see that it started as a traffic conflict and unfortunately it led to a bigger mishap.”
In the brief recording that is circulating, the guide, dressed in an orange uniform, is seen exchanging blows with a man wearing casual clothes and a sleeveless shirt, right in front of the airport exits. In the images, several tourists are also seen witnessing the altercation, some of them accompanied by children.
