Cruise ship Nieuw Amsterdam arrives in Huatulco with 2,800 passengers

Coming from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, the Nieuw Amsterdam vessel arrived at the port of Santa Cruz Huatulco with 2,080 passengers and 831 crew members on board, so it is estimated that its presence will leave an economic impact of close to 2 million 597 thousand pesos in the Costa region.

The providers of tourist services will be the main sector to benefit, as they will offer different spaces, tours and experiences to visitors. The ship will remain approximately 9 hours at the destination.

The Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat reported that the 2024-2025 cruise season in Bahías de Huatulco includes the arrival of 19 cruise ships and approximately 35,678 passengers and 15,535 crew members, so it estimates an economic impact of 51 million 840 thousand 941 pesos.

These resources are very important to boost the reactivation of the region’s economy and will allow Oaxacan families to generate new income from their services and products.
