Morena or El Mayito Flaco, the Only Pillars Supporting Rubén Rocha Moya in the Government of Sinaloa

While the governor of Sinaloa is on tour in Mexico City, La Chapiza hung a narcomanta in Culiacán claiming that “the soldiers” are on their side.

This morning, a group of citizens appeared at the facilities of the Electoral Institute of the State of Sinaloa (IEES) to initiate the process revoke Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, which could occur on November 1st.

While attendees shouted, “Out with Rocha Moya!”, the governor was shaking hands and receiving hugs from Morena legislators in the Chambers of Deputies and Senators in Mexico City.

“My gratitude to the deputies of the 4T who received me with great enthusiasm and expressed their support for my government, so that together with the federal government, we can achieve the full development of Sinaloa in economic and social terms and enjoy the peace and security that all Sinaloans deserve.”

Before arriving at the San Lázaro precinct, Rubén Rocha Moya attended a meeting with the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, with whom he said he would work together to build peace in the state and ensure the safety of Sinaloans: “I thanked the President for the decisive and supportive help she has given us to combat security issues.”

During his tour in Mexico City, violence continued as it has in recent weeks: shootings, blockades, and clashes were reported on October 24th. However, what grabbed all the attention was a narcomanta hung on the pedestrian bridge in Culiacán:

“Just as we handed over your father, we will hand you over to the USA. Isn’t the government on your side?” read the narcomanta signed by La Chapiza.

Will Rubén Rocha Moya Finish His Term?

To initiate the revoke process, the IEES must receive at least 236,912 signatures from citizens registered in the electoral roll, equivalent to 10 percent of the total, collected from 11 municipalities.

Awaiting to see if the governor of Sinaloa will face a recall due to a lack of confidence, journalist Juan Manuel Partida, president of the Association of Journalists of Sinaloa, told this outlet that it will be practically “impossible” for Rubén Rocha Moya to complete his six-year term: “But Morena will fight for it.”

The journalist, one of the most critical of the Sinaloa government, highlights that in addition to Morena’s support, a future arrest of Ismael Zambada Sicairos (El Mayito Flaco) could also calm things down in the state and stop the war with Los Chapitos.

However, Juan Manuel Partida emphasizes that “revenge does not disappear” and that Rubén Rocha Moya is being accused of colluding with Los Chapitos in the kidnapping of Ismael El Mayo Zambada and in the war against El Mayito Flaco.

If things continue, if the war continues and with-it dozens more deaths, Rubén Rocha Moya “will resign or be forced to resign” under the figure of the Mandate Revoke.
