Bunker and arsenal seized in Pitiquito, Sonora; vehicles also reported stolen

Elements of the Semar and AMIC secured a bunker-type construction, where they seized five vehicles (four of them reported stolen), firearms and tactical equipment.

The property was found during a patrol and investigation operation in Ejido Victoria, located in the town of Puerto Libertad, in the municipality of Pitiquito, where elements of the Navy (Semar) and the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC) participated.

The structure, built with steel sheets and concrete, was conditioned to store goods used in criminal activities.

Among the vehicles seized are a Toyota 4Runner, a Ford Explorer and a Jeep Gladiator reported stolen in the United States of America and a Nissan reported stolen in Sonora. A Chevrolet Silverado was also found, with no theft report.

In addition, two AK-47 rifles, 34 magazines, 850 7.62×39 mm caliber cartridges, 180 .50 caliber cartridges and boxes with 4,460 additional cartridges, along with four tactical vests, were found at the site. All the items were kept under the custody of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office pending the corresponding investigations.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) reported that it continues its work to dismantle arms and drug trafficking networks in the region, reaffirming its commitment to security and justice for citizens.

FGR investigates discovery of 16 explosive devices

Elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) in coordination with elements of the National Guard (GN), located and secured 16 homemade explosive devices with an expansive explosion capacity of 50 meters.

The discovery was made near the Yécora – Maycoba highway section, at kilometer 330, belonging to the municipality of Hermosillo, Sonora.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in its Federal Prosecutor’s Office in the State of Sonora, initiated an investigation file against whoever or whoever is responsible for the crime of violating the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.

According to the investigation, they also found at the scene a machine gun type firearm, an AK-47 firearm, an AR-15 firearm, a firearm, 14 magazines, 610 cartridges of various calibers and a cell phone that served as a detonator.

The Social Representative of the Federation of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Sonora, reported that it continues with the integration of the investigation to, in due time, obtain the necessary evidence against whoever or whoever is responsible.
