
Luis Mendoza Acevedo, head of the Benito Juárez Mayor’s Office, announced the suspension of activities at the “La México” Bullring and the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium (the Estadio Azul) due to non-compliance with civil protection measures.
The decision was made after massive events were held at both facilities simultaneously tonight, which contravenes the security regulations established in Mexico City (CDMX).

According to preliminary information, the authorities will wait until the end of the soccer match between Cruz Azul and Santos corresponding to the 15th date of the national soccer championship, to carry out the closing ceremony.
Meanwhile, activities at the Plaza were stopped after the “Coco, a party to remember” festival ended.

In a message to the media from Gate 1 of the Bullring, Mendoza Acevedo said that they will “put” order in both venues “until they comply with civil protection issues.”
He added that for some time, the venues have been dragging inconsistencies in civil protection issues.
“Everything is for the well-being of the neighbors and all the families who come every day to any event, to any show of this type and do not comply with civil protection issues. My obligation and in this mayor’s office of Benito Juárez will be everything that has to do with order,” said the mayor.

‘Everything has to do with the administrators, owners, all legal representatives of the Plaza de Toros and Estadio Azul,’ said the mayor, pointing out that the failures are the result of the organizers and that they will receive the punishment.
Iconic venues of CDMX
The Plaza de Toros ‘La México’ and the “Estadio Azul” are iconic venues of the country’s capital, located in the Nápoles neighborhood; together they form a sports and entertainment complex.
The Plaza de Toros was inaugurated in 1946 and is considered the largest in the world. Right next door is the Estadio Azul, where a sports match is being played tonight.
The building has been the home of teams such as Atlante, Cruz Azul and América, in addition to hosting American football matches and concerts.
