The National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) seized a small plane in Durango that was allegedly used to commit illegal activities.
‘Ghost’ plane in Durango
On the morning of Tuesday, November 5, Sedena elements learned of a small plane — Cessana type, white, with registration XB-JVG — which was expired and was flying without a flight plan 100 kilometers northwest of Chihuahua.
In light of this, an air and land operation was implemented to intercept the aircraft, which was abandoned on a path in the municipality of Villa de Ocampo, Durango.
It is worth mentioning that no person was found inside the aircraft and no prohibited object was located.
Violence in El Dorado, Sinaloa
Later, in the town of Leopoldo Sánchez Celis, municipality of El Dorado, Sinaloa, soldiers were attacked with bullets by armed civilians.
After repelling the attack, the criminals escaped from the scene; however, they abandoned 13 high-powered firearms, two explosive devices, magazines, cartridges and seven vehicles.
The war objects were kept under the custody of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In another incident, in the same state, elements of the Mexican Navy (Semar) seized weapons and tactical equipment in the towns of Guamuchilera, Alcoyonky, Talayote, los Vasitos and la Flecha, in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
The seizure of the weapons was carried out during the operations implemented by marines within the operation implemented to restore peace in Sinaloa.
Among the seized items are high-powered rifles, magazines known as bull’s eggs, helmets, vests and camouflaged tactical clothing, hundreds of high-caliber bullets, rifles with attachments to launch fragmentation grenades and tire punctures.
In this regard, the authorities did not report any arrests. It is worth mentioning that the seized items were made available to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office for the investigation to continue.
Latest Navy operations
Also on this same day, Navy elements seized more than 3 tons of cocaine in Acapulco, Guerrero, and nine people related to the trafficking gang were arrested.
According to official information, naval personnel conducting surveillance tours spotted a Go Fast type boat with two outboard motors, with nine crew members on board, this occurred 246 kilometers from the port of Acapulco.
Upon inspecting the vessel, the sailors found 102 black packages containing brick-shaped packages containing white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine.
