One missing person and material damage was the result of a landslide in the community of Jolitontic, municipality of Chalchihuitán, due to the intense rains in the area.
Residents joined the rescue efforts carried out by Municipal Civil Protection elements, in order to locate the missing person.
It was reported that five houses were affected, three of which were completely buried, in view of this situation the place was cordoned off due to the risk of new landslides. It was also said that heavy machinery will be used to speed up the search and removal of the tons of mud and earth.
Residents presume that the missing person may have lost his life during the landslide that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Given this situation, they asked for urgent support from the population to help the families who lost the little they had, by setting up a collection center to collect food, bottled water, clothing, blankets, diapers and milk, since among those affected there are several children.
Residents urged municipal and state authorities to send machinery to remove the tons of earth and some trees that fell from the hills and to request help from the State Civil Protection for the people who were left homeless.
