This weekend the closing of the O’reilly Auto Parts Desert Series 2024 Championship will take place at the Bronco Circuit Desert Challenge.
Starting this Friday, November 8 at 5 p.m. on the La Paz boardwalk, the activities of the O’reilly Auto Parts Bronco Circuit Desert Challenge will begin with the mechanical review of the cars and motorcycles that participate on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 at the Bronco Circuit located at kilometer 3 of the La Paz highway to the San Juan de Los Planes delegation.
Manuel Núñez, director and founder of Probaja, announced that the registrations are for 220 racing cars and 55 motorcycles, but it is expected to break the record of 223 cars registered in 2022, the highest number of participants this year are the North American drivers Jean Seje, Tony Willy, Sandy Hall, as well as the national drivers Rafael Aguirre and Carlos Cordero from Nuevo León.
In addition to the Huitrón brothers from Jalisco, the Castilla brothers from Sinaloa and drivers from Los Cabos, Comondú and La Paz, he mentioned that this Saturday and Sunday 7,000 fans are expected to attend the races at the Bronco Circuit, which will have, as a gift for the fans, in addition to the participation in their respective categories, the Super Libre race with the most powerful cars.
He indicated that tickets for fans are already on sale in pre-sale at auto parts stores and gas stations for 200 pesos for adults and 100 pesos for minors for both days and on the day of the race they will cost 250 for adults and 150 for minors. The Bronco Circuit is part of the Probaja championship that includes 7 dates, it began 53 years ago with a route in the area of the exit to Los Planes called the Bronco Circuit.
He indicated that this race dates back to 1971 but that in its modern stage it was inaugurated in 2009 and the name was kept “when we made this new format at the Rancho “Los Excavaderos” we named it Circuito Bronco to continue with the tradition”; last year the Circuito Bronco was won by Adrian Sauceda from Monterrey in class 1 which is a tubular structure buggy and the favorites for this year, he indicated
Among the favorites are the Ruffo Racing team of Andres Ruffo, Jimmy Díaz from Los Barriles; Carlos Ramos Murillo from the CJR team and Andrea Tomba in Trophy Trucks; he highlighted “we are three cars away from breaking the record of participation in a local race that was achieved 2 years ago we are in the Circuito Bronco I believe that they will achieve it in the mechanical review”. he said.
The Bronco Circuit has two routes, the short one and the 13 kilometer one. On Saturday, motorcycles and the “small” categories Class 9, Class 11, Women, Mini Pick Ups will compete, and there will be qualifying tests for large cars to obtain a place in the competition on Sunday; the children’s category championship will be held on Sunday starting at 8 in the morning.
