The fact that the coin has unique characteristics, as well as the fact that its circulation has decreased drastically over the years, make this piece a real rarity, especially if it is verified that it is the first edition from the year 2000.
However, it is also important to note that some sellers take advantage of coin collectors and sell them at really abusive prices, so the best option would be to go to the Mint located in Mexico City, where experts are in charge of evaluating the piece, saying if it is authentic, and determining the real price that must be paid for it.

The truth is that, when we go around Mercado Libre, we find that there are Mexican coins that are more “expensive” than those of Octavio Paz, especially those that have errors in their design.
A 20 peso coin with the face of Emiliano Zapata with two errors, for example, is offered for 1.7 million pesos, while a commemorative coin for the 500th anniversary of the founding of Veracruz costs… almost three million pesos!
