The 50th anniversary of the Yucatán International Fair, Xmatkuil, will be celebrated starting on November 8 in Mérida, as announced by Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena.
In addition to paid concerts, the fair will feature free recitals, boxing matches, wrestling shows, and popular festivals. “This fair is a symbol of our culture, diversity, and warmth, which defines our beloved state of Yucatán. This year, the fair returns bigger and better than ever, with an expectation of receiving almost 3 million visitors who will come to enjoy everything our land has to offer: livestock championships, agricultural and artisanal production, as well as the participation of businessmen and business chambers that will also exhibit what is made in Yucatán,” said the governor.
He also announced that the fair’s ambassador will be chosen at the start of the festivities, and on November 30, a collective wedding and the Vaquería (popular mass dance) will take place.
