Quintana Roo strengthens its air connectivity with the east coast of the United States with the arrival, starting on November 20, of the first Avelo airline flight from Bradley Airport in Hartford, United States, reported the State Secretariat of Tourism (Sedetur), headed by Bernardo Cueto Riestra.
This airport is located between the city of Hartford, capital of the state of Connecticut, and Springfield, in neighboring Massachusetts, in the northeast of the United States.
“This new service will operate twice a week, providing a comfortable and economical option for travelers who wish to visit Cancun and the Riviera Maya. With this new route, Avelo reinforces its commitment to Mexico’s international connectivity and in particular to the most important tourist destination in the country,” Sedetur said in a press release.
The arrival of Avelo Airlines at Cancun International Airport not only represents a new transportation option for travelers from the northeast of the United States, but also a reflection of the continued growth and success of the tourism industry in Quintana Roo, a state that has managed to position itself as a world-class destination thanks to investments in infrastructure, constant promotion and the quality of the services it offers to tourists.
“This announcement is another example of the fact that airlines firmly believe in the Cancun destination and in the joint work we have done in tourism under the leadership of Governor Mara Lezama,” said the head of Sedetur.
“The opening of this new route will not only increase connectivity between the northeast of the United States and Cancun, but will also contribute to the growth of the tourism industry so that it in turn translates into shared prosperity in our local communities, generating new jobs and economic opportunities,” he said.
Finally, he stressed that Quintana Roo is a leader in international air connectivity and the arrival of Avelo Airlines at Cancun International Airport follows the positive trend of new international routes and connections, positioning Cancun as one of the busiest and fastest growing airports in Latin America.
