Two tourists, citizens of Portugal, reported missing in Chiapas, were found safe and sound this Friday in Mexico City, the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported.

“In the last few hours, the Consulate of Portugal in Mexico City confirmed that on the night of November 14 of this year, Dinis “N” and Goncalo “N” arrived in the capital of the country,” the agency said in a statement.

The Attorney General’s Office said that it continues to carry out investigative acts to determine whether or not they were victims of a crime. It said that on November 8 it received the complaint (it does not mention whether from relatives) that reported that approximately at 10:28 p.m., was the last time they had communication via WhatsApp with Goncalo and Dinis Pedro, who were in the municipality of San Cristóbal de las Casas, and the whereabouts of both are unknown to date.

Dinis Pedro Dos Santos Rodrigues, 40, and Goncalo Alfaro Pereira Dos Santos e Cruz, 39, arrived in San Cristóbal de las Casas in the Altos region of Chiapas, to visit tourist sites. After locating the two Portuguese tourists, the Prosecutor’s Office released their file through its social networks, marking them as found alive.
