Chinese car invasion causes sales to fall and staff to be laid off at Nissan

The president of the State Business Council, Roberto Díaz Ruiz, attributed the lack of vehicle sales to the staff cuts announced by Nissan worldwide.
He said that among the main factors for the drop in sales is the invasion of Chinese vehicles.
“Now everywhere you see cars manufactured in China and at a lower cost, which obviously affects the sales of the manufacturers.”
He justified that in the face of crises like those experienced by the Japanese firm, as in every company, the first thing that is adjusted is production and consequently the staff.
“If you have 10 workers, you adjust the number from 9 to 8 and so you go until you find a point of equilibrium.”
Even though there will be cuts in Aguascalientes, he explained that there is an oversupply of work, so there is capacity to absorb the people who could be left without a job.
