Supplying more than 80 cities, Aguascalientes is ranked third in the country in chicken production, which despite the large productions that reach up to 500 thousand tons of chicken each year, the Aguascalientes Poultry Farmers Association points out that through the technicalization of production it is possible.
The manager of said association, Pedro Pedroza Pedroza, speaks, adding that as far as the agri-food sector is concerned, 60% of the protein of animal origin in Aguascalientes corresponds to chicken production.
Pedroza Pedroza maintains that production is expanding and companies from Aguascalientes already have a presence in Jalisco and Zacatecas due to the parameters of sanitary regulation, where the territorial extension is beginning to be insufficient.
However, the manager mentioned that for this and other reasons, the state’s poultry industry continues with the process of technicalization of the industry, which, he anticipates, could cushion the price of consumption, avoiding damaging the consumer’s pocket as much as possible, he points out.
The Association adds that there are 42 million chickens in its production plants in the region, where it seeks to maintain high quality standards where fattening processes no longer require expanding spaces.
