The city of Aguascalientes now has 100 new buses for urban public transportation, which were put into service today during an event led by Governor Tere Jiménez.
At the event, held at the Megavelaria of the Expo Plaza, it was announced that another 40 buses will soon be incorporated into the service. These include articulated “oruga” units, with capacity for up to 120 passengers, as well as extra-large buses with capacity for 86 passengers.
The articulated units will provide service along the Third Ring, while the rest of the buses put into service today will primarily serve the Eastern Zone of the City of Aguascalientes.

In her remarks, Governor Tere Jiménez stated that quality public transportation is a priority for her administration because it allows residents of the city to travel to their workplaces and return home safely and with dignity. “In Aguascalientes, we are going to have the best mobility system in Mexico,” she stated.
For his part, Ricardo Serrano Rangel, director of the state’s Mobility Agency, reported that the buses put into service today are powered by hybrid engines or natural gas, and feature technology designed to improve safety. They are equipped with card validators, passenger-counting bars, and free internet, among other services.
He announced that the Third Ring will have an exclusive lane for public buses, which will allow users to travel more quickly and safely.
Among those attending the event to put the new urban buses into service were Aurora Jiménez Esquivel, president of the State DIF; Humberto Montero de Alba, president of the Mobility Commission in the State Congress; Leonardo Montañez, municipal president of Aguascalientes; José Antonio Arámbula and José Juan Sánchez Barba, the Secretary General of Government and General Coordinator of the Cabinet, respectively; Jacob Guo, Yutong’s Director General of Sales, the company that manufactured the buses delivered today; and Francisco Trueba, divisional director of Urban Buses at SIT Aguascalientes.
