Elements of the Armed Forces raided two ranches in the Cintalapa municipality, Chiapas, where they found weapons, ammunition and drugs, presumably from Los Deltas, a cell of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).

The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that in the early hours of November 19, elements of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the National Guard (GN) and the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) carried out a search warrant simultaneously.

According to the authorities, the federal forces carried out a search at the El Zapote ranch, where they found five long firearms, four shotguns, three packages of crystal and four packages of cocaine.

The SSPC reported that intelligence and investigation work revealed that these sites were possibly storing illegal objects, so it requested search warrants from a judge, which were granted.

Another of the searches was carried out at the Sicarios ranch located on the San Pedro Tapanatepec – Tuxtla Gutiérrez International Highway, a site linked to criminal activities in the region, where they found shells of different calibers.

The properties were sealed and placed under police guard, while the seized items were made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, for subsequent investigations and to integrate the investigation file of the case.

Infobae Mexico was able to learn that these places are related to the criminal cell known as Los Deltas of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel.

On November 15, it was revealed that the criminal organization of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, leader of the CJNG, was forcing residents of the Ignacio Zaragoza community in the municipality of La Concordia, Chiapas, to participate in blockades at several strategic points, such as Jaltenango La Paz and the entrance to Rizo de Oro.

“The Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, with its cell the Chiapas and Guatemala Cartels are forcing residents to carry out blockades at different points in Jaltengo La Paz, the entrance to Rizo de Oro (…). Those who do not go are threatened with beatings,” reads a letter revealed by journalist Gabriela Coutiño.

This situation has generated a climate of fear and uncertainty among residents, who feel they have been abandoned by the authorities.
