During the appearance of the Civil Protection Secretariat before the State Congress, the PAN deputy, Índira Rosales San Román, questioned the delay of the Veracruz government in reporting on the landslide on the Cumbres de Maltrata highway.
In response, the head of Civil Protection, Guadalupe Osorno Maldonado, clarified that the landslide occurred in the territory of the state of Puebla, not in Veracruz.
“It is an event that corresponds to the state of Puebla, although we maintain coordination with them. The work is in charge of CAPUFE and the federation, while we have provided support in the management of pipes that were trapped in the area,” explained Osorno.
The secretary also recognized that the landslide is a complex problem that requires a great deal of work.
He added that the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through its director Luis Posadas, maintains contact with the Veracruz authorities to coordinate efforts.
