
The State Government Secretariat reported that 970 men, 394 women and 159 minors entered San Pedro Tapanatepec early Monday morning.
The migrants settled under a dome near the Municipal Presidency, as well as in parks and streets.
The State Government activated the “Safe and orderly transit through Oaxaca” protocol.
In this regard, the Secretary of Government, Jesús Romero, indicated that the entry of each caravan into the state implies an expense of between 250 and 300 thousand pesos, given the mobilization of police forces, health personnel, official vehicles, among others.
For his part, activist Luis Rey García Villagrán, denounced cases in which authorities transfer migrants to Michoacán and Guerrero and abandon them to their fate, without following up on their regularization procedures.
