Last weekend, the avenues and boulevards of Bahías de Huatulco became the scene of an exciting cycling competition, the Miguel Arroyo Grand Prix 2024. This sporting event, which has gained prestige year after year, not only highlights national-level cycling, but also promotes the tourist appeal of this paradisiacal destination in Oaxaca.
With an ideal climate for cycling, the race brought together 170 cyclists from various states of the country, such as Puebla, Tlaxcala, Mexico City, Chiapas, Veracruz and Oaxaca, who met to compete on two routes: a short one of 60 kilometers and a long one of 100 kilometers. The competitors sought to position themselves in the first places to get on the podium.
This event paid tribute to Miguel Arroyo, known as “El Halcón de Huamantla”, one of the most emblematic cyclists in Mexico, who left a legacy of great national and international achievements in the sport of pedaling. His legacy lives on through his children, who continue to promote cycling in the country.
The 2024 Miguel Arroyo Huatulco Grand Prix was sponsored by the Oaxacan company Mayordomo, which is committed to cycling and, with its support, contributes to the growth of this sport in the region.
