Nayarit, the tourist destination hosting the Second Business Leaders Summit

Entrepreneurs and personalities from the tourism and business sector met at the Second Business Leaders Summit.
Between November 20 and 22, the Second Business Leaders Summit was held in Bahía de Banderas, in the State of Nayarit, one of the most important entities in the country in terms of tourism, thanks to its places of international interest and the work that the authorities and the Ministry of Tourism have done in recent years.

The event began on Wednesday, November 20, with a press conference attended by Octavio de la Torre, president of the Confederation of Business Chambers (CONCANACO), who thanked the press for their presence and for being part of the service sector.

“We have 257 presidents in 1,857 municipalities in the country, representing 4.8 million companies and family businesses. This organization represents 37 million jobs, generates 66% of the GDP and provides 7 out of 10 formal jobs in the country and generates 66% of the income tax, which makes our president happy,” said Octavio de la Torre.

Likewise, the president of CONCANACO thanked the State of Nayarit and Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro for hosting this summit that will allow more than 170 Nayarit entrepreneurs to attend and grow their companies, highlighting the new programs that the government has implemented to make Nayarit a tourist and business destination.

On Thursday, November 21, prior to the grand opening of the event, María Ariza, general director of the Mexican Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA), spoke to the business sector, assuring that Mexico is an ideal country to invest in thanks to variable income, and that it will continue to be so even with the threats of the virtual president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, since Mexico is a fundamental partner for the North American country.

“The main index of Mexico (IPC) had a performance of 34.6, despite the fact that the geopolitical context has greatly affected it, the conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, etc. generate negative movements, in addition to the fact that we are codependent on the most important economy in the world (the United States), but we are and will continue to be its main commercial partner,” she asserted.

For her part, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, thanked the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, Juan Enrique Suárez, and spoke about the campaign “Mexico very Mexican”, with which the Ministry of Tourism will have a close collaboration due to the vision of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, which seeks to promote community tourism and prosperity.

“This initiative brings together leaders and conveys that Mexico is ready for investments, the promotion of a brand, so I will be visiting Nayarit later to strengthen what they are doing very well, such as the training and promotion they have been doing in the two largest markets that Mexico has: the United States and Canada,” said Josefina Rodríguez Zamora.

Likewise, she assured that she will team up with CONCANACO focused on the next FIFA World Cup that will have Mexico as one of its venues in 2026, which will boost the tourism sector in all the states of the Republic, congratulating the institution for all the work it has done.

Finally, the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro, thanked the attendees and assured that he has governed through the experience that his life has given him and the ability to decipher each of the components of Mexican society. He also thanked the businessmen for producing the vast majority of jobs in the country and 98% of jobs in Nayarit.

“The time has come to recognize what the economic sector does for Mexico, that is why today I come to recognize the effort they make for the country and for Nayarit, that is why we will not fail them, Nayarit is a privileged state,” said the governor.

He spoke of the importance of protecting the investment that comes to the state, and promised to guarantee that the doors of the state are open to entrepreneurs who want to move the economy of Nayarit forward.

“I love Nayarit very much and I have to, together with the people of Nayarit, move it forward, so I thank you for bringing us to the attention of the entire country and the world at this time so that they can see that Nayarit opens the doors to investment and guarantees it, because we provide legal security for investment,” he said.

Finally, CONCANACO SERVYTUR gave special recognition to Governor Navarro Quintero for his support for the business and tourism development of the state, who later declared the Second Business Leaders Summit inaugurated.
