On November 23, Zicatela Beach in Puerto Escondido will be the stage for the presentation of the Guelaguetza del Mar 2024, which will pay tribute to the cultural wealth of the communities of the Oaxacan Coast.
Within the framework of the November Festivities of Puerto Escondido 2024, in this meeting that will show the joy, music, dance and celebration of this region, the delegations of Santa María Colotepec, Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, San Pedro Mixtepec, Santa Catarina Juquila, Villa de Zaachila, Puerto Escondido, Heroica Ciudad de Huajuapan de León, Ejutla de Crespo, Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, San Pedro Pochutla, San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec and Putla Villa de Guerrero will participate.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism, Saymi Pineda Velasco, indicated that this meeting, which will show the folkloric wealth of the Oaxacan communities, will also boost the local economy and attract visitors.
She invited the state’s citizens, national and international tourists to attend this party. “It is an opportunity for more people to enjoy the atmosphere of coexistence, joy and unity that characterizes the cultural heart of Mexico,” she said.
The Guelaguetza del Mar 2024 will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a party that will depart from the tourist information module on Avenida del Morro to Brisas Zicatela, at the height of the sump. Later at 7:00 p.m. the presentations of traditional dances and music will begin.
Juana Hernández López, representative of the Goddess Centéotl 2024, will lead the participating delegations, which will be accompanied by the Canasteras of Puerto Ángel and the Music Band of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection to offer a party that will unite the peoples of Oaxaca in a show of brotherhood and joy.
