LGBT+ community activist Daniel Armando Hernández was shot dead in the municipality of Salvatierra, Guanajuato.
It is known that the 20-year-old, who called himself Danniel Morrison, was found dead inside a hotel in the Magical Town of Salvatierra.
Local authorities reported that on the afternoon of Thursday, November 28, they received a report from neighbors who alerted about gunshots inside the Ibio hotel, located next to the Guadalupe resort, on Juan José Posadas Ocampo Boulevard.
Municipal Public Security elements went to the scene, where they found a young man covered in blood and with gunshot wounds; he was found outside one of the rooms.
The police requested the support of Red Cross paramedics, who upon arriving and checking the victim only confirmed his death.
The crime scene was secured by Public Security elements while experts and agents of the State Attorney General’s Office gathered evidence to begin investigations into the case.

It was not until this Friday that organizations of the LGBT+ community revealed that the victim was one of their main activists.
The civil association ‘Salvatierra Sin fronteras’ issued a statement on its social networks in which it shows its concern about the crime of Danniel Morrison and demands justice to punish the person or persons responsible for the murder.
“The absence of information about the ongoing investigation has generated a feeling of impunity and hopelessness in our community. We demand that the authorities take immediate measures to clarify the facts and bring those responsible to justice. It is essential that a thorough and transparent investigation be carried out that takes into account the possible motivation of hatred towards the LGBT+ community,” they said in their statement.
“The LGBT+ community in our city has been the victim of violence and discrimination for a long time. It is time for the authorities to take concrete measures to protect our rights and guarantee our safety,” they demanded.
“We demand justice for Daniel Morrison and for the entire LGBT+ community. We demand that concrete measures be taken to prevent violence and discrimination in our city.”
Daniel Armando Hernández, born on April 27, 2004 in Salvatierra, Guanajuato, was a visible face in marches, forums and events, where he promoted inclusion and fought against discrimination.
Organizations from the LGBT+ community demanded justice and the clarification of the crime.

Salvatierra, the Magical Town located in the southern part of the state of Guanajuato, has been the scene of highly resonant violent events.
In October 2020, the largest clandestine grave in the history of Guanajuato was located: 80 bodies were buried underground, stacked one after the other.
In December 2023, 11 young people were killed and 24 more were injured while having fun at an inn in the former Hacienda San José Del Carmen. The attack was carried out by an armed commando.
