San Miguel de Allende stands out as the home of boxing in Guanajuato

Due to its professional facilities and its attention to the boxing community, San Miguel de Allende stood out as a venue in Guanajuato by holding the “Municipal Boxing Selection” with 20 athletes seeking the national podium of the CONADE 2025 Games.

Under the vision of President Mauricio Trejo that young people are a priority, the Municipal Sports Commission (Comude) coordinated the meetings of boxing talents in the “Baby Vázquez” Sports Module in the children, junior and youth categories.

This sporting event was held on San Miguel soil, since this city stands out for its professional infrastructure for the practice of boxing and other disciplines.

“(Mauricio Trejo) He is the only president who bets on and loves sports, he is the only president at the national level who has invested in sports and that investment is reflected in complete facilities, the facilities are first class in boxing. “Schools are with all the discipline and the tendency for the boys to excel” said José Cruz, head of the Comude.

San Miguel de Allende is a state sports reference, concluded the municipal head of sports: “I am very pleased, because from Guanajuato, the Sports Commission of the State of Guanajuato (CODE) says: go to San Miguel, in San Miguel there are very good facilities, in San Miguel the organization is very good with the lawyer Mauricio (Trejo)”.

The sports infrastructure for boxing has improved substantially in recent years in San Miguel de Allende, with the opening of the “Training Centers” at the Railway Station as well as in the “Baby Vázquez” Sports Module and also a professional gym specialized for local boxers was inaugurated in the San Rafael neighborhood, which allows for good sports results at the state and national level.

Boxers from the clubs and gyms of the municipal sports unit, Panteras Boxing, Boxeo Mexicano Nueva Generación, Cabrera’s Box GYM, Baby Vázquez, Warrios and Módulo Deportivo Baby Vázquez participated in this municipal selection.
