Students from the Colegio de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos del Estado de Michoacán (Cecytem), Lagunillas campus, qualified for the Robotics World Cup, to be held in Dallas, Texas, in February 2025, after obtaining the highest award for Excellence during the seventh State Robotics Tournament.
The general director of Cecytem, Juan Carlos Velasco Procell, reported that the competition brought together more than 200 students from 53 schools in the subsystem, who showed their skills in programming, construction and design of robots.
The young people from the Lagunillas campus won by winning three consecutive games with the highest score in hoops and balls,” he explained.
Promising future generations
The students from the Capula campus were the two-time champions in the Tournament Champion category; in Programming, those from the Ciudad Hidalgo campus; in Construction, those from Churumuco; in Design and Robot Skill, the Epitacio Huerta; in Judges, those from Peribán; in Collaborative Robotics, those from the Center for Higher Secondary Education at a Distance (Cemsad 43) of Buena Vista.
On behalf of the president of the STEM Iberoamerica Academy, Francisco Wilson Robles, the Project Director, Raymundo Gonzalo, highlighted how gratifying it is to see the talent that the Cecytem students have and the work of the advisors, for which he invited the student community to reinforce their skills.
The IT director, Luis Alberto Aguirre Vázquez, was in charge of closing the technological works, where he endorsed the work and commitment of Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla and the general director of Cecytem, to bring cutting-edge and cutting-edge technologies to the school community for its academic, technological and comprehensive development.
