Guerrero government strengthens tourism promotion in the northern part of the state

With the aim of expanding the promotion of tourist destinations in the northern area of ​​Guerrero, the government headed by Evelyn Salgado Pineda, through the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), will strengthen the coordination of actions for this holiday season at the end of the year and evaluates the project schedule for 2025.

In this sense, the State Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, held a working meeting with representatives of the tourism sector of the Magical Town of Taxco de Alarcón, with whom he agreed on the planning of activities that will be included in the tourist agenda for next year, giving greater promotion to the tourist sites of the region.

Later, Quiñones Orozco and the municipal president toured the Monumental Tapestry of the Poinsettia Flower called “Cuetlaxochilt”, which represents purity for the Aztec people and is related to the new life of the warriors killed in battle, who would return to earth in the form of hummingbirds to drink the honey from the plant.

This spectacular floral mosaic beautifies the Borda square of the Magical Town and is enjoyed by thousands of tourists and residents who visit the tourist area to celebrate their December holidays.

During the tour, Simón Quiñones pointed out that his visit to the city is part of the review of the destinations with a tourist vocation in this December season, in order to guarantee attention to visitors, as well as to evaluate the projects for 2025.

“We want to continue with the dynamic of having a defined tourist agenda and in which we have clarity of what is coming in the coming months because it is giving results; there is excellent coordination with the sector and local authorities that allow us to strengthen the promotion of the destinations,” he said.

The head of the SECTUR also participated in the meeting of the Technical Committee of the Trust for the Administration and Investment of the Tax on the Provision of Lodging Services of Taxco, which was attended by the municipal president of Taxco, Juan Andrés Vega; the president of the Trust, Martín Kendrick Berger; the delegate of Tourism of the Northern zone of the Sectur Guerrero, Arely Castell Roldán; the Secretary of Tourism and Culture of Taxco, Jesús Alejandro Villarejo Hernández; the president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Taxco de Alarcón, representing Ángel Ramos Pérez, the Local Administrator and Finance Collection in Taxco, representing Raymundo Segura Estrada, Secretary of Finance and Administration of the state government and the vice president of Hotels of Taxco, Erika Suárez Hernández.

Finally, Quiñones Orozco concluded his work day in the Northern zone with a meeting with the president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Taxco de Alarcón, Martha Beatriz Mejía and the vice president of Hotels of Taxco, Erika Suárez Hernández, with whom he exchanged strategies to reinforce the influx and occupancy rates in lodging.
