The Mazatlán Bus Station has shown a notable recovery in the last week, after a difficult period due to the decrease in road tourism in Sinaloa.
María Ríos, a counter employee at the station, said that before Christmas there was a 20 percent increase in ticket demand, after Christmas it fell a little, rose again and on the 31st the arrivals and departures are few.
“We had a lot of people until yesterday, and today Tuesday it went down, the people who had planned to travel have already arrived or left and the exodus of vacationers will be on January 2,” she said.
According to recent data from the director of the terminal, Álvaro Peña Torres, he indicated that the flow of travelers began to pick up on December 21, reaching a maximum of 240 daily trips, however, the activity experienced a slight normalization during the Christmas Eve and Christmas weekend.
This increase allowed bus lines to recover 10 percent of the missing figure to match the closing levels of 2023.
The exodus of vacationers is expected to occur from January 2, for which everything is ready and prepared to support visitors and ensure that they do not have any problems when returning to their place of origin.
