In order not to “apology violence,” the governor of Guanajuato, Libia García Muñoz Ledo, asked mayors not to hire artists who sing narcocorridos for the fairs.
At the request of the governor, the Salvatierra government cancelled the presentation of the singer El Comander.
The governor revealed that she has held meetings with 20 of the 46 mayors of Guanajuato to discuss strategic issues and, as part of the requests, is to support the holding of the fairs for the foundation of their municipalities.
“What I have proposed is that we cannot, also from the authority, promote this type of culture or apology of violence, of crime; I am convinced of that, that if there is going to be resources from the state to promote, let it be culture, let it be activities that strengthen the social fabric and families,” argued Libia García.
She stressed that as a government, society and family, events that promote violence must be avoided.
“That is what I am going to do and I will always recommend it and I will say it more publicly, as a mother, as an aunt, I have nephews already, well, at an age where they can go to these concerts,” she said.
The governor urged not to “listen to that type of music that generates, well, a normalization of things that we should not normalize in our society.”
High-caliber weapons
Regarding the position of the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, that the purchase of high-caliber automatic weapons will not solve the problems of insecurity in Guanajuato, Libia García Muñoz Ledo supported the position and agreed that the root causes must be attacked.
The Secretariat of National Defense (Defense) has already authorized the government of the state of Guanajuato to buy high-caliber weapons. Following the murder of four state police officers, the governor stated that they were facing an unequal war against criminal groups due to the type of weapons they use.
“We fully agree with the vision that the President has and that she has expressed, that is not the solution, however, it is precisely the attention to the causes, prevention and, while we achieve this reconstruction of the social fabric, we must have an effective response to the demand of the people to return peace and tranquility,” she declared.
She added that the improvement of weapons is to strengthen the police who are on the front line of battle working for the tranquility of families.
“It is not the solution, but it is a tool that allows us to fight more effectively against those who seek to generate instability,” she pointed out.
She ruled out the existence of a war because she is a woman who believes in peace and who believes in stability.
“But, I also believe that today, as women at the forefront representing the State, the State must also exercise its force against those who harm the tranquility of families. It is not, of course, a call for aggression or for confrontation in a violent manner; it is about the rule of law,” she stressed.
Narcocorridos banned at Aguascalientes fair
The head of the State Public Security Secretariat, Manuel Alonso García, recommended that artists performing at the fair in the municipality of Rincón de Romos, in Aguascalientes, avoid playing melodies that glorify crime.
During a press conference, Alonso García warned that “we have instructions from the state authority and from the governor (the PAN member, Teresa Jiménez) not to allow them to be performed.”
The event was attended by more than 120 police officers, mostly from the State Police and the rest from municipal corporations, in addition to the local police from the municipality of Pabellón de Arteaga, which is located nine kilometers from this municipal capital.
The singer Luis R. Conriquez did not comply with the order and performed the songs Presidente and Sí quieres o no within his Trakas Tour, which hinted at themes of alleged members of organized crime.
Those who did comply with the measure were the directors of the company Show Ticket, who announced the cancellation of the concert of the Tucanes de Tijuana who were going to perform in the state capital and who had scheduled to perform on March 15 at the Arena Aguascalientes.
The event was held on the fields of the Sports Unit, where about 20 people attended. thousand people, most of them from the state, although vehicle license plates from Zacatecas, Jalisco and Guanajuato were also seen.
