With the first long weekend of the year just around the corner, the Magical Town of Tula, in Tamaulipas, is presented as an ideal option to enjoy a few days of rest with the family.

Founded in 1617, Tula is one of the oldest cities in Tamaulipas. Its colonial architecture, such as the emblematic church of San Antonio de Padua, invites you to take a tour of the past, while its main square becomes an ideal meeting point to admire local life. The city is also home to the famous cuera tulteca, a typical representative costume of the region, made by hand.

It should be noted that this Magical Town is the bridge to reach the El Cielo Biosphere Reserve, located in the northeast of Mexico, covers 144,530 hectares and was the first biosphere reserve in the country. Formed 65 million years ago, it houses marine fossils and a rich biodiversity, including 650 species of butterflies. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.

How to get to Tula from San Luis Potosí?

To get to Tula from San Luis Potosí, you must take highway 57 and, at the El Huizache junction, join federal highway 80. Then, continue until you reach the Guadalupe dam and continue on highway 101 until you reach Tula.
