The Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí is organizing an important religious event with the arrival of the relics of Saint Jude Thaddeus, patron saint of difficult cases.

This tour, which will take place from February 12 to 27, will visit different municipalities, as well as the local penitentiaries of La Pila in the capital and Rioverde in the Zona Media.

The relics, which include a wax figure of the apostle and an arm with a bone fragment, considered a first-degree reliquary, will be transported in a “popemobile” type vehicle, which will allow the faithful to follow their path along the roads of Potosí. Security will be provided by the State Civil Guard and local municipal police.

Rubén Omar Villegas Hernández, parish priest of the church of Santa Isabel in Armadillo de los Infante and David Huerta Leyva, vicar of the church of Nuestra Señora de Fátima in the capital, are in charge of coordinating the tour.

Both stressed that the relics will be available for veneration at different points, starting with the metropolitan cathedral of San Luis Potosí on February 12, where Archbishop Jorge Alberto Cavazos Arizpe will welcome them. During their stay in the capital city, the relics will also visit other emblematic parishes, such as that of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in the Tequisquiapan neighborhood and the church of Nuestro Señor de Burgos in El Saucito.

The itinerary will continue on February 17 with a transfer to the foreign area, starting with the municipality of Ahualulco and then visiting Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Villa de Pozos and the La Pila penitentiary, where a special stop will be made for the inmates of the center. In addition, on February 21, the relics will be taken to the parish of Villa de Reyes and to Santa María del Río on February 22.

Starting on February 24, the relics will be moved to the Zona Media, starting in Rioverde, where they will be for two days before being taken to the local penitentiary on February 26. The tour will conclude in the municipality of Cerritos on February 27, with a final stop at the parish of San Juan Bautista.

This event promises to be a unique opportunity for devotees of San Judas Tadeo, who will be able to approach the relics and participate in a tour that unites the spiritual with the cultural, marking an important milestone for the Catholic community of Potosí.
