The state ranks first nationally in the production value of red tomatoes and third in sweet corn, according to 2025 figures.
San Luis Potosí stands as one of the country’s leading agricultural powerhouses, ranking first nationally in red tomato production value and third in sweet corn—results that reflect the growth and diversification of the state’s agricultural sector.
According to 2025 data from the General Directorate of the Agri-food and Fisheries Information Service (DGSIAP), the production value of red tomatoes exceeded 4.41 billion pesos, while that of sweet corn surpassed 554 million pesos.
In terms of volume, San Luis Potosí ranked second nationally for red tomatoes (340,843 tons), third for sweet corn (128,238 tons), and third for oranges (367,514 tons).
Mayra Edith Velázquez Loera, head of the State Population Council (Coespo), highlighted that the state produces over 70 agricultural products for human consumption and other uses. Guided by the vision of Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, the “Government of Change” continues to implement measures to create better conditions for producers and advance toward the San Luis that rural families deserve.
