After a march in Culiacán against violence and for the resignation of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo assured that her government is working in Sinaloa to restore peace.

In her morning press conference on Monday, January 27 at the National Palace, Sheinbaum Pardo mentioned that violence broke out in Sinaloa after the arrest of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.

“We will continue to insist on this explanation of how this arrest occurred in our country, which is the origin of this wave of violence,” said the President.

“We are working every day,” said President Sheinbaum, lamenting what the people of Sinaloa are experiencing because “it is not only a concern, it is an occupation.” She indicated that more security reinforcements arrived in the state.

She said that her government is working to build peace in Sinaloa, by addressing the causes and zero impunity.

When questioned about her support for Governor Rubén Rocha, the President said that “our job is to help protect the families of Sinaloa.”

“The job of the federal government is to support all families, building peace,” she said.

“There is a very important coordination of the security forces,” she added.
