Atoyatenco, in Nativitas, will have an urban art festival

The community of Atoyatenco, in the municipality of Nativitas, will host the first Urban Art Festival, which will bring together muralists from various states of the country, who will capture their strokes on the main streets of the town.

The event will take place on March 1 and, in addition to the presence of the visual artists who will inaugurate their mural pieces, there will be presentations by ska groups, such as Kabila Safi, from El Carmen Tequexquitla, and the cumbia band, Convictos de la Villa, from Puebla.

The first edition of the Urban Art Festival is organized by the artist Valeria Álvarez Espejel who, in a talk with El Sol de Tlaxcala, explained that the intention of this activity is to strengthen the cultural identity of the community of Atoyatenco, through urban art.

Álvarez Espejel explained that the murals will be created by artists Wisart, from Morelos; Nozer and Haniak, from the State of Mexico; as well as Tlaxcalan creators Dani Bom, Praxis Maculada and Valeria Espejel herself, whose artistic name is Val, who have a recognized career in the field of urban muralism, as their work has been captured in various states of the country.

The murals that will be captured as part of the festival will be created in the main streets of Atoyatenco, such as the area of ​​La Capilla and the Barrio de La Garita, and their theme will be related to the identity and history of the community itself.

The Urban Art Festival will take place within the framework of the Carpa Fair, which will also be held on March 1 and will include dance performances, puppet shows, a classic car exhibition, and the tasting of this traditional dish, among other activities that will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be open to the public.
