In keeping with the commitment of the current state administration to improve the quality of life of Querétaro residents through public works and urban development, Governor Mauricio Kuri González led the delivery of road improvement works on various streets in the municipality of Tequisquiapan, which represented an investment of 9.6 million pesos for the benefit of the residents of the Los Cerritos and Santa Fe neighborhoods.

During his visit, Kuri González, accompanied by the municipal president of Tequisquiapan, Héctor Iván Magaña Rentería, verified the works and actions that were carried out in the area, which will provide greater security for those who use the intersection, will also allow for a reduction in travel times and will improve the fluidity of vehicular traffic.

In front of the neighbors of the region, the Secretary of Urban Development and Public Works, José Pío X Salgado Tovar, specified the scope of the project, which through an investment of 4.8 million pesos included the rehabilitation of 3,780 square meters of Emiliano Zapata Street, in the Los Cerritos community; with the characteristic of pavement packed in tepetate, stamped concrete ruts and attention to pedestrians at intersections through the installation of road safety devices, as well as sidewalks, ramps, bollards, signage and paint for the benefit of 1,200 people.

“And something very important, sir, that we want to tell you, the quality that is given in the metropolitan area, the colonies like Álamos, Carretas, etc., is the quality that is given in the communities as well, that is, in that sense, the quality is even, and little by little we will have to advance in this matter,” he stressed.

Later, the delegation headed by the Governor, moved to the vicinity of 8 de Noviembre street, in the Santa Fe neighborhood, where he verified the readiness of the modernization work of four thousand 500 square meters of street in the Santa Fe neighborhood, which with resources of 4.8 million pesos were given the task of introducing the sanitary drainage system with 58 discharges, packed pavement and concrete steps, sidewalks, ramps, bollards and signage.

The head of the SDUOP, detailed that in this work the goals were expanded thanks to the inter-institutional collaboration of both the State Infrastructure Commission (CEI), as well as the State Water Commission (CEA), which with the common effort managed to finish the work on time for a thousand inhabitants of this area.

When taking the floor, the municipal president of Tequisquiapan, recognized the vision of the state authorities to invest in the community and improve the conditions in which the neighbors live; These works had been requested for a long time, as he recalled that it has been approximately 20 years since the Los Cerritos area received a visit from a governor.

“Los Cerritos is one of the most remote communities in the municipality, and it is also one of those with the most elderly people. That is why it was important that we improve the conditions of the sidewalk, most of the people in the community do not have a vehicle, they walk, and that is why this work is functional, (…) and we are witnesses that the state government supports Tequisquiapan,” he concluded.
