How much will you pay for the toll booths from Puebla to Huatulco during Holy Week?

2

Motorists traveling from Puebla to Huatulco this Easter will pay 599 pesos each way at toll booths, according to the most recent data from the Federal Highways and Bridges (Capufe).

This cost, which totals 1,198 pesos round-trip, covers the route along Mexico City Highway 135D and the modern Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway. Other vehicles face different rates: motorcycles pay 417 pesos, 2- or 3-axle buses 1,381 pesos, and 5-axle trucks 1,797 pesos each way. However, the focus is on cars, with 599 pesos as the key figure for trip planning.

The breakdown begins in Puebla heading to Oaxaca on Mexico City Highway 135D: Amozoc (84 pesos), Tehuacán (52 pesos), Miahuatlán (37 pesos), Suchixtlahuaca (89 pesos), and Huitzo (103 pesos) total 365 pesos for cars. Then, the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway, from Oaxaca to Huatulco, adds 234 pesos, with two toll booths (Barranca Larga and Ventanilla) included in that fare. This 104.3-kilometer stretch, inaugurated in 2024, reduces the trip to 2.5 hours compared to more than six hours on the free route, justifying the cost for many.

The 599 pesos per section reflects updated fares as of January 31, 2025, following a period without tolls on the coastal section.

For Easter, from April 13 to 20, 2025, Capufe suggests checking the 599 pesos fee at facturacioncapufe.com.mx or “Traza tu Ruta” (traceyourroute) (app.sct.gob.mx), in case of possible adjustments in March or April. With a distance of 614 kilometers, cars pay an affordable total compared to other destinations. Check the rates and plan your trip to Huatulco with this information in mind. (LV)
